Heavy! The United States Proposes To Impose A 25% Tariff On Chinese Ceramic Tile Products-1

Today, this trade war seems to be affecting the ceramics industry soon!

According to news from the Anti-Dumping Online and China Forest Products Industry Association, three floor companies including Mohawk Industries, Inc., Dal-Tile Corporation and UNILIN have submitted written applications on May 11, 2018, and on May 15, 2018. At the hearing of the U.S. Trade Representative Office, a request was made to the U.S. government requesting that the following floor products be added to the list of 50 billion U.S. dollars to directly impose a tariff of 25%. The specific products involved are as follows:

1. Tiles (Customs Code HTS 6907 and 6908)

2. Strengthened flooring produced with particleboard, oriented strand board, fiberboard, and medium density fiberboard as base material (Customs Tax Codes HTS4410.19; 4411.13; 4411.14; 4411.92)

3, multi-layer solid wood composite flooring (Customs tax code HTS 4412)

4, plastic flooring products (Customs tax code HTS3918.10.10)
